Moss tripled, his first of the year. He drove in two runs, giving him nine in the last six games. 


Marwin Gonzalez homers for Astros

(11:33 pm ET) Astros third baseman Marwin Gonzalez went 3 for 5 in Monday's win over Cleveland. 

Gonzalez hit a solo home run, his second in the last three games, and drove in a pair of runs in the game. 

Gonzalez hit in his fourth straight game and is 7 for the last 16. 


Twins option Aaron Thompson to Triple-A; recall Ryan O'Rourke

(11:32 pm ET) The Twins demoted pitcher Aaron Thompson to Triple-A following Monday's 4-2 win over the Orioles, reports 1500 ESPN.

Thompson has a 5.01 ERA in 32 1/3 innings of work this season. With Thompson being sent down, the team recalled pitcher Ryan O'Rourke, who has never appeared in an MLB game.


Preston Tucker homers in Astros' win

(11:30 pm ET) Astros right fielder Preston Tucker hit a solo home run in Monday's win over Cleveland. 

Tucker went 4 for 5, matching the number of hits he had in his last six games, spanning 23 at bats.

Tucker had a double and his fifth homer of the year, his first in 16 games. . 


Indians' Carlos Carrasco has two-game win streak snapped

(11:24 pm ET) Indians starter Carlos Carrasco suffered his first loss since June 19, Monday against Houston. 

Carrasco dropped to 10-7 and had a two-game win streak snapped. He matched season highs with 10 hits and five runs allowed. He walked one and struck out five.


Dallas Keuchel wins 11th for Astros

(11:22 pm ET) Astros starter Dallas Keuchel won his 11th game of the season, improving to 11-3 with a win over Cleveland on Monday. 

Keuchel won his third straight start and fourth in the last five. 

Keuchel wasn't at the top of his game. He matched a season low with six innings pitched and allowed a season-high nine hits. 

Keuchel allowed three runs and struck out eight. 


Padres SP James Shields allows one run in Monday's loss

(11:18 pm ET) Padres pitcher James Shields was solid throughout his start against the Pirates on Monday, but it was not enough as the Padres fell 2-1.

Shields allowed one unearned run on two hits over seven innings of work. Shields walked one and struck out three during the outing. He received a no-decision for his effort and his ERA is now 3.88.

After starting the season 7-0, Shields is now winless in his last six starts. However, he has earned a quality start in his last two outings.


Eugenio Suarez homers in Reds' win

(11:17 pm ET) Reds shortstop Eugenio Suarez hit his third home run of the year in Monday's win over Washington. 

After hitting one home run in his first 16 games of the year, Suarez now has two in his last five games. He went 3 for 4 with two RBI, getting as many hits as he had in his previous 12 at bats, spanning four games. 


Nationals' Danny Espinosa homers in two-hit game

(11:13 pm ET) Nationals infielder Danny Espinosa went 2 for 4 in Monday's loss to Cincinnati, the second day in a row Espinosa has had multiple hits in a game. Espinosa has hit in the last three and his 5 for his last 10. 

Espinosa had his 15th double and ninth home run of the year in the game. It's the first time he's had multiple extra-base hits in a game since getting two doubles on June 30. He went deep for the first time since June 10. 


Pirates SP A.J. Burnett receives no-decision Monday

(11:11 pm ET) Despite producing a solid outing Monday, Pirates pitcher A.J. Burnett received a no-decision during the 2-1 win over the Padres.

Burnett allowed one run on five hits over 7 2/3 innings. He also walked three and struck out four during the outing. His ERA is now 1.99.

Burnett has now earned a quality start in his last six starts. He has surrendered a total of four earned runs over his last 20 2/3 innings of work.
