(3:49 pm ET) The Reds recalled starting pitcher Michael Lorenzen from Triple-A Louisville on Monday. To clear a roster spot, starting pitcher David Holmberg was optioned to Louisville.

Yankees 1B Mark Teixeira (leg) still out on Monday

(3:48 pm ET) Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira remains out of the starting lineup Monday against the Red Sox. Teixiera hasn't played since a ninth-inning pinch-hit appearance on Wednesday, as he continues to be bothered by a bone bruise in his leg.

Greg Bird will continue to see time at first base while Teixiera is out. The Yankees have not indicated when they expect Teixeira to return to the lineup.


Reds recall infielder/outfielder Adam Duvall

(3:43 pm ET) The Reds recalled infielder/outfielder Adam Duvall from Triple-A Louisville on Monday. He was part of the trade that sent Mike Leake to the Giants on July 29.

Duvall hit .189 with four doubles, four home runs and seven RBI in 25 games with Louisville.


Braves' Shelby Miller starting in place of ill Mike Foltynewicz Monday

(3:38 pm ET) Braves rookie starter Mike Foltynewicz is dealing with fever and viral symptoms, and he will not make his scheduled start Monday against the Marlins. It is not yet known when Foltynewicz will make his next start.

Ace Shelby Miller will make the start on Monday instead. Miller, who last pitched on Thursday, will be going on normal rest when he toes the rubber on Monday.


Red Sox LF Hanley Ramirez (shoulder) sidelined again Monday

(3:27 pm ET) Red Sox left fielder Hanley Ramirez remains out of the starting lineup Monday against the Yankees. Ramirez missed the entire weekend series against the Mets while dealing with a sore shoulder.

The Red Sox will continue to roll with an outfield of Jackie Bradley in left, Mookie Betts in center and Rusney Castillo in right. 


Marlins OF Christian Yelich misses another start Monday

(3:25 pm ET) Marlins outfielder Christian Yelich was sidelined a fifth straight start Monday against the Braves due to a bruised knee. 

He has played in just three games (two starts) since coming off the disabled list Aug. 25. He is batting .375 (3 for 8) with one double, one RBI and one run in that span.


Red Sox C Ryan Hanigan ready to roll on Monday

(3:21 pm ET) Red Sox catcher Ryan Hanigan has returned to the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees. Hanigan was scractched from Saturday's lineup with a tight calf muscle, and did not play Sunday either. 

But he's back behind the plate and batting eighth in the series-opener against the Yankees. 


Giants' Tim Hudson (shoulder) likely to return from DL on Tuesday

(3:11 pm ET) Giants right-hander Tim Hudson could be nearing his return from the disabled list. Hudson has been on the DL for a month while dealing with a right shoulder strain. But he is expected to return on Tuesday when rosters expand, according to FoxSports.com.

It is not clear if Hudson will return to the rotation or if he will join the bullpen when he is activated. The veteran righty was on the verge of moving to a relief role when he got hit with the injury.


White Sox will not trade David Robertson to Yankees

(2:40 pm ET) The White Sox pulled closer David Robertson off waivers Monday afternoon and will not trade him to the Yankees, according to CBS Sports Baseball Insider Jon Heyman. Chicago had until 2 p.m. ET on Monday to trade Robertson after the Yankees claimed him on waivers.

Cardinals reinstate Trevor Rosenthal, reinstate Sam Tuivailala

(12:23 pm ET) Cardinals closer Trevor Rosenthal was reinstated from the paternity list on Monday. To clear a roster spot, pitcher Sam Tuivailala was optioned to Triple-A Memphis.
