Royals' Paulo Orlando hits first career home run

(10:41 pm ET) Royals right fielder Paulo Orlando hit his first career home run in Tuesday's loss to the Yankees. 

Orlando's solo shot in the sixth was the Royals' only run of the game. Orlando went 1 for 3 and drove in his seventh run of the year. 


Mark Teixeira drives in four in Yankees' win

(10:39 pm ET) Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira drove in four runs in Tuesday's win over Kansas City. 

Teixeira hit a two-run home run in the first inning to put the Yankees on top to stay. His four RBi were the most since he had four on April 24. 

Teixeira went 2 for 4, scoring twice. He homered for the 14th time this season and reached 35 RBI. 


Cardinals' Matt Adams leaves Tuesday's game with quad injury

(10:36 pm ET) Cardinals first baseman Matt Adams was forced to leave Tuesday's game when he suffered a strained right quadriceps while running the bases, the team announced.

Adams was 1 for 3 before leaving with the injury. He was replaced by Mark Reynolds.


Yankees' Andrew Miller pitches scoreless ninth

(10:35 pm ET) Yankees closer Andrew Miller pitched a scoreless ninth inning in a non-save situation as New York beat Kansas City on Tuesday. 

Miller entered with a four-run lead and allowed a hit, while striking out a batter. 

It's Miller's fourth straight appearance without a save. 


Royals' Jason Vargas drops to 3-2 with loss

(10:33 pm ET) Royals starter Jason Vargas snapped a personal two-game winning streak with a loss Tuesday against the Yankees. 

Vargas dropped to 3-2 after allowing two runs on four hits in four innings. He walked one, struck out six and allowed a home run. 

His next start is Tuesday, against Cleveland. 


Yankees' Adam Warren evens record at 3-3

(10:31 pm ET) Yankees starter Adam Warren evened his record with a win over Kansas City on Tuesday. 

Warren moved to 3-3 with 6 1/3 innings of two-hit ball. He didn't walk a batter and struck out five. His only run allowed was a solo home run. 

Warren snapped a personal two-game losing streak and lowered his ERA to 3.91. Warren's next start is Sunday, at Oakland. 


Rockies C Nick Hundley hits fifth home run of season Tuesday

(10:30 pm ET) Rockies catcher Nick Hundley smacked his fifth home run of the season Tuesday, but it was not enough as the Rockies fell 2-1 to the Reds.

Hundley went 2 for 3 during the game and he is now hitting .317 on the season. Over his last seven games, Hundley is 10 for 26 with three home runs and seven RBI.


Astros RP Samuel Deduno set to begin rehab assignment Friday

(10:23 pm ET) After throwing a bullpen session Tuesday without any issues, Astros pitcher Samuel Deduno will begin a Triple-A rehab assignment Friday, reports MLB.com.

Deduno is on the disabled list with a stiff lower back.


Marlins to start Brand Hand on Wednesday

(10:19 pm ET) The Marlins will turn to pitcher Brad Hand to start Wednesday's game at Pittsburgh, the team announced.

Hand has appeared in 14 games this season and produced a 5.48 ERA over 23 innings of work.


Pirates' Neil Walker hits fifth HR of season

(10:14 pm ET) Pirates infielder Neil Walker hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the second inning of Tuesday night's 5-1 victory over the Marlins. 

Walker finished the game 1 of 4, with the home run being his third of the season. After going hitless in three games, Walker has now recorded hits in three of his past eight at-bats. Walker has 16 RBI this season. 

Following the game, Walker now holds a slash line of .259/.320/.395.
