D-Backs P Chase Anderson gives up 3 runs in no-decision

(1:26 am ET) Diamondbacks pitcher Chase Anderson allowed three earned runs in a no-decision during Friday night's 4-3 win over the Rockies. 

Anderson went six innings, gave up three hits, walked two batters and struck out five. Anderson got the win but has now surrendered 15 earned runs in his last three starts. Anderson now has a 3.71 ERA for the year. 


Mets' Noah Syndergaard gets no-decision

(1:20 am ET) Mets starter Noah Syndergaard allowed one run in six innings but took a no-decision after leaving with the score tied. 

Syndergaard has allowed one earned run in three of his last four starts, but he has just one win to show for it. 

Syndergaard allowed just two hits for the second time in four starts. He walked two and struck out six. 


Pirates OF Andrew McCutchen hits homer in loss to Indians

(1:17 am ET) Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen crushed his 10th home run of the season in Friday night's 5-2 loss to the Indians. 

McCutchen's homer was a solo shot as he finished the game 1 for 2. McCutchen also drew two walks during the game. McCutchen has now recorded a hit in five consecutive games. For the season, McCutchen is slashing .296/.390/.493. 


Indians 1B Brandon Moss goes yard in win over Pirates

(1:10 am ET) Indians first baseman Brandon Moss hit his 14th home run of the season in Friday night's 5-2 win over the Pirates. 

Moss finished the game 1 for 4 with his homer driving in two runs. Moss now has 44 RBI this year. However, Moss has only recorded three hits in his past six games. For the season, Moss is slashing .230/.307/.450. 


Marlins 1B Michael Morse goes 1 for 3 in rehab game Friday

(1:07 am ET) Marlins first baseman Michael Morse played in his first rehab game on Friday, going 1 for 3 with a walk and a strikeout for Class A Jupiter. Morse is recovering from a sprained finger and a back injury. He could return as early as Saturday against the Cubs, though the Marlins have not made any official announcement at this point. 

A's LF Mark Canha drives in three runs in loss on Friday

(1:02 am ET) Left fielder Mark Canha bookended the scoring for the Athletics on Friday. Canha singled in the first run of the game in the second inning, and then doubled in two more in the bottom of the ninth. But it wasn't enough, as the A's would fall 9-5 to the Mariners.

All told, Canha went 2 for 4 with three RBI and a run scored on Friday. Canha has seen his playing time dwindle over the past few weeks, and he's batting just .188 over his last nine ballgames.


Pirates' Charlie Morton loses second game of season

(12:59 am ET) Pirates pitcher Charlie Morton allowed three earned runs in Friday night's 5-2 loss against the Indians. 

Morton went six innings, gave up four hits, walked three batters and struck out three. Morton has now surrendered 16 earned runs in his past three starts. He fell to 6-2 and now has an ERA of 4.30 for the season in eight starts. 


Mariners SS Brad Miller hits two-run home run on Friday

(12:57 am ET) Mariners shortstop Brad Miller went 2 for 4 with a double and a two-run home run in the 9-5 win over the A's on Friday. Miller's home run came in the eighth inning and put the Mariners up 9-3.

It was Miller's eighth home run of the season, and he's batting .379 with two homers and five RBI over his last eight contests.


David Ortiz drives in two runs for Red Sox

(12:53 am ET) Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz went 2 for 3 with two walks in Friday's loss to Houston. 

Ortiz doubled, his 13th of the year and drove in two runs. Ortiz has five RBI in the last two games. He's hit in his last four. 

Ortiz hit his first double since June 6. He's hit eight home runs since then. 


Mariners' Seth Smith cracks go-ahead two-run homer on Friday

(12:53 am ET) Mariners outfielder Seth Smith came through with a go-ahead home run in Friday's 9-5 win over the A's. Smith blasted a two-run shot in the sixth inning to give the Mariners a 4-3 lead.

The home run, Smith's seventh of the season, was his only hit of the game.
