Reds' Marlon Byrd doubles, homers, drives in four in win
by Ted Leshinski | Staff Writer
(11:34 pm ET) Left fielder Marlon Byrd doubled, homered and knocked in four runs Tuesday in the Reds' victory over the Pirates.

Byrd had struggled early on in the season, hitting just .163 during the first month.

"It's the toughest time since I turned things back around two years ago," Byrd said. "I've been putting in a lot of time in with [hitting coach] Don Long and things are slowly starting to come around."

Tuesday marked the first time this season that Byrd notched two extra-base hits in one game.

"The home run was exciting and the double in the ninth inning was especially exciting because it's a lot easier to manage a game with a six-run lead than a one-run lead or being down a run," Reds manager Bryan Price said about Byrd.

(11:32 pm ET) Justin Turner drove in four of the Dodgers' eight runs in Tuesday's win over Milwaukee. The third baseman went 3 for 4, lifting his average to .333. His three-run home run in the sixth inning put the Dodgers on top to stay.

Turner now has six homers and 10 RBI.

Greinke's next start is Sunday at Colorado.

Tigers won't reveal MRI results for Justin Verlander until Wednesday
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(11:24 pm ET) Results on Justin Verlander's MRI on his strained triceps muscle came back, but the Tigers have not consulted with all three doctors to determine the next step in his recovery. The team will make a formal announcement on his status on Wednesday, according to MLive.com.

Verlander began the season on the 15-day disabled list after suffering the injury in his final start of the spring.

Verlander went 15-12 with a 4.54 ERA, a 1.40 WHIP and 159:65 K:BB ratio over 206 innings in 2014. He has not won 20 games since 2011 when he won the AL CY Young award.

Garza's next start is scheduled for Sunday against the Cubs.

Yankees' Chase Headley on lower back soreness: 'I'll be fine'
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(11:14 pm ET) Yankees manager Joe Girardi told reporters he subbed Alex Rodriguez in for Gregorio Petit at third base late in Tuesday's 6-3 victory over Toronto because Chase Headley is dealing with soreness in his lower back, per Newsday. Petit was drilled in the hand in the eighth inning, which prompted the change by Girardi in the bottom of the ninth.

Headley is expected to be back in the lineup Wednesday.

"I'll be fine," Headley said.

Headley is hitting .247 with 10 RBI in 97 at-bats this season.
