Giants SP Tim Hudson stymies Braves offense in win on Friday
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(12:55 am ET) Giants starter Tim Hudson was excellent against his former team on Friday. Hudson limited the Braves to one run on five hits over seven innings. He struck out four and did not allow a walk in the 4-2 victory.

Hudson (3-4) lowered his ERA to 4.62 with the superb outing. The only run he gave up came on a Cameron Maybin RBI single in the third inning. He needed just 83 pitches to get through his seven innings.

The veteran right-hander will look to keep rolling in his next start, scheduled for Wednesday at home against the Pirates.

Twins' Glen Perkins suffers loss after ninth inning meltdown
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(12:42 am ET) Twins closer Glen Perkins took the loss against Toronto on Friday, after giving up two runs in 1/3 of an inning.

Perkins entered the tie game to start the ninth and allowed three hits, including a home run, and a walk.

Perkins dropped to 0-1 and saw his ERA grow to 1.96.

Twins' Trevor May gets no-decision after six innings
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(12:35 am ET) Twins starter Trevor May allowed four runs over six innings in a no-decision against Toronto on Friday.

May gave up eight hits and a walk, while striking out five. He also surrendered a home run. His next start is Wednesday, at Boston.

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(12:28 am ET) Blue Jays starter Mark Buehrle pitched a complete game for the win on Friday, against Minnesota.

Buehrle allowed four runs on six hits and moved to 6-4 on the season. He didn't walk a batter and struck out three. His next start is Wednesday against Washington.

Diamondbacks 1B Paul Goldschmidt gets three hits on Friday
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(12:11 am ET) Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt contiued his torrid pace at the plate in Friday's win over the Brewers. Goldschmidt went 3 for 5 with a double and scored twice in the 7-5 victory.

Goldschmidt now has 13 hits in 35 at-bats over his last 10 games. He has two home runs and six RBI over that stretch.

Diamondbacks CF A.J. Pollock goes yard in win on Friday
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(12:09 am ET) Diamondbacks center fielder A.J. Pollock gave his team some breathing room with a two-run home run in the top of the ninth on Friday. The homer, his fifth of the season, put the Arizona up 7-4, as they went on to beat the Brewers 7-5.

Pollock joined the outfield-home run party, as all three members of the Diamondbacks' outfield went deep on Friday. Pollock has now hit safely in nine of his last 10 games.

Diamondbacks OF Ender Inciarte hits rare home run on Friday
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(12:06 am ET) Starting in right field for the Diamondbacks on Friday, Ender Inciarte had two hits including his second home run of the season. The solo shot in the top of the third put Arizona up 2-1 in the eventual 7-5 victory over the Brewers.

Interestingly, Inciarte, who did not strikeout on Friday, has struck out just once in his last six games, but he has not drawn a walk in that span either.

Diamondbacks LF David Peralta goes yard on Friday
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(12:00 am ET) After being held out of the starting lineup each of the last two games, Diamondbacks outfielder David Peralta returned in a big way on Friday against the Brewers. Peralta went 2 for 3 with a double and a solo home run, finishing with two RBI and two runs scored in the 7-5 victory.

Peralta's third-inning home run was his fifth of the season and gave his team a temporary 3-1 lead. Peralta now holds a .258 batting average on the season.

Josh Hamilton hits two home runs for Rangers
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(5/29/2015) Rangers left fielder Josh Hamilton hit two home runs in Friday's win over Boston. Hamilton homered for the first time since last August 24 and his first two-homer day since July 10, 2013.

Hamilton went 2 for 3, walked and scored three times. He also recorded his second and third RBI of the year.

Diamondbacks SS Nick Ahmed blasts game-winning home run
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(5/29/2015) Diamondbacks shortstop Nick Ahmed had one hit in four at-bats on Friday against the Brewers. But was it ever a big hit. Ahmed launched a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to break a 4-4 tie and give the Diamondbacks a lead they would hang on to, as they were victorious 7-5. It was Ahmed's third homer of the season.

The 25-year-old Ahmed has been hot at the plate. Over his last 10 games, he has 12 hits in 35 at-bats, including two home runs, two doubles and a triple. Despite the hot streak, however, Ahmed holds just a .214 season batting average.
