Rangers SP Colby Lewis gives up seven runs, gets win vs. Astros
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(11:46 pm ET) Rangers starter Colby Lewis had a rather bizarre outing on Monday. The right-hander gave up seven runs on 10 hits over six innings, but still came away with his 12th win of the season (and third in a row) in the 12-9 victory over the Astros.

Lewis (12-4) was down early, as he gave up two runs in the top of the first on a Carlos Correa home run. But the Rangers exploded for six runs in the bottom half. Lewis gave up another home run, this time a solo shot to Luis Valbuena in the second inning.

The big blow against Lewis came in the fourth, after the Rangers had just put up a five-spot, when Jason Castro blasted a grand slam to cut the Rangers' lead to 11-7.

Lewis increased his ERA to 4.68 after the rough outing. It's the second time in his pas six starts that he allowed more than three runs--the previous time was a 10-run meltdown on July 5.
