(6/13/13) Athletics reliever Jesse Chavez picked up his first win of the season in Thursday's 18-inning marathon against the Yankees.
Chavez (1-0) struck out seven and pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings. The right-hander has not surrendered a run in his last 9 2/3 innings pitched. His ERA lowered from 2.57 to 1.83 after Thursday's 3-2 win in extras.

(6/12/13) Athletics reliever Jesse Chavez has been dealing with a minor pectoral injury, the San Francisco Chronicle reports Wednesday before a game against the Yankees. Chavez is day to day.
The 29-year-old reliever has a 2.57 ERA over 14 innings and nine appearances. He last pitched June 5 at Milwaukee.

(5/10/13) The Athletics recalled reliever Jesse Chavez from Triple-A Sacramento, the team announced Friday. Evan Scribner was optioned back to Sacramento to make for him on the 25-man roster.
Chavez posted a 6.23 ERA with three strikeouts and one walk over three appearances (4 1/3 innings) with the big club.

(4/29/13) Athletics reliever Jesse Chavez was optioned to the minors Monday.
With Dan Straily coming up to make a start, the A's had to make space on their roster. Chavez made three appearances with the major-league club, tossing 4 1/3 innings. He had a 6.23 ERA.

(4/20/13) The Athletics recalled right-handed pitcher Jesse Chavez from Triple-A Sacramento Saturday.
Chavez made three starts in Triple-A before his promotion, surrendering five earned runs and striking out 19 in 18 1/3 innings. He is expected to work out of the bullpen for Oakland.
