Fantasy Analysis
Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said it's going to be difficult to find Gomez regular playing time with Nyjer Morgan and Norichika Aoki also needing playing time in center field. Gomez is mostly in the lineup for his defense. Although, he's off to a decent offensive start in 2012. Gomez remains just an NL-only Fantasy option. (Updated 05/20/2012).

Carlos Gomez continued to struggle to hit for average again in 2011 but he was able to pick up his power numbers in his second season with the Brewers. He hit a career-high eight homers with 24 RBI in 231 at-bats, and also stole 16 bases. He started 59 games in center field but came off the bench in many games due to Nyjer Morgan's fine campaign. The 26-year-old has never quite lived up to his expectations as a former top prospect but he still has a nice blend of power and speed that keeps him relevant in Fantasy. If he could see more playing time in 2012, Gomez would have more value in larger formats but given his production over the last few seasons, and the signing of Norichika Aoki , leave him for deeper NL-only formats on Draft Day.
