|Micah Owings re-assigned to minor-league camp|
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
(3/28/13) The Nationals announced Thursday that first baseman Micah Owings has been re-assigned to minor-league camp. Owings went 0 for 2 Thursday to give him a final spring line of .324/.342/.568 with two home runs in 37 at-bats. Capable of playing first base and the outfield, Owings should get a shot at playing time with the Nationals this season.

(2/23/13) Washington infielder Micah Owings finished 1 for 4 during the Nationals' 5-3 loss to the Mets in the Grapefruit League opener for both teams on Saturday. Owings served as the designated hitter before moving to first base and showed no limitations with his shoulder that prevented him from taking batting practice earlier this week. The former pitcher is attempting to land a spot on the roster as a backup first baseman.
