Preseason Outlook

Considering the Rangers handed him an everyday job as a 20-year-old, Andrus didn't perform all that poorly in 2009. He stole 33 bases, which gives him value in Rotisserie leagues no matter what else he does. Of course, to become a standout Fantasy option, he'll have to improve his hitting, which he showed signs of doing with a .280 batting average in the second half. You won't ever mistake him for a power hitter, but he has the potential to hit .300, or at least close to it. And in a loaded Rangers lineup, he shouldn't have much trouble scoring runs. Despite his reputation as a top prospect, he's no Fantasy stud, but if you miss out on the elite shortstops, his stolen bases and expected progression should make him a worthwhile starter for you.
