Fantasy Analysis
Slowey's injury is not being considered serious, but the team just wants to be sure before sending him back on the hill. The right-hander has gone 1-2 with a 4.50 ERA through three starts for the Clippers thus far and most are expecting him to surface in Cleveland at some point later in the season. However, until that happens, his value will remain very minimal in the majority of formats. (Updated 04/22/2012).
Kevin Slowey will have a rotation battle ahead of him entering spring training with the Cleveland Indians. Slowey will be making a fresh start after spending his entire career to this point with the Minnesota Twins. He just might have a rotation spot locked up already if Fausto Carmona -- now Roberto Hernandez Heredia -- can't make it back in time to begin the season. Regardless of that, Slowey will have a chance to prove he's better than his 0-8 record with a 6.67 ERA in 14 games and eight starts with Minnesota last season. Slowey was a 13-game winner in 2010, so the 27-year-old does have the ability to bounce back. He is not an overpowering pitcher and his ERA is sure to be around 4.00. He'll be mostly an AL-only Fantasy option if he begins the season in the rotation. (Updated 2/7/12)
