(9/25/13) Impending free agent Kevin Slowey has expressed interest in returning to the Marlins next season, the Sun Sentinel reports.
"This has been a great spot with the coaching staff, my teammates, all the opportunity that was here," Slowey told the Sun Sentinel. "It's going to be a team that will be much improved record-wise. The talent is here ... I'd love to come back. If we can find a way to make it work that's what I'll do."
Slowey has been recovering from forearm tightness and hasn't pitched since late July. He is expected to throw off a mound later this week and is willing to spend time in winter ball to prove his health.

(9/24/13) Marlins manager Mike Redmond told the Miami Herald Tuesday that pitcher Kevin Slowey resumed baseball activities this week and will head into the offseason healthy. Slowey missed the remainder of the season with right forearm tightness.
"Slowey threw a bullpen today and said things went well," Redmond said. "He threw 25 pitches. So that's good news for him. Obviously he's not going to pitch this season, but for him personally his frame of mind going into the offseason knowing he's going to be healthy that's good for him."
