| Sam Fuld providing little offense for Rays |
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (4/17/13) Rays outfielder Sam Fuld was hitless in two at-bats Tuesday at Baltimore, extending his hitless streak to eight games (0 for 15). Fuld has hit safely in just one of 12 games this season, batting .080 (2 for 25).

| Are we undervaluing Sam Fuld? |
by Nando Di Fino | Senior Fantasy Writer (4/2/13) Sam Fuld does not have an ADP from this year's drafts. His ownership shows up at zero percent. But I know that number is somewhat flawed, because I am a Sam Fuld owner.
Fuld is starting in right field in the Rays' opening day lineup. He managed 308 at-bats in 2011. If he wasn't hurt for much of last year, he probably would have gotten more than those 98 at-bats, too. Fuld doesn't hit for a great average, but he has decent speed and the ground he covers defensively -- as well as his status as a Joe Maddon Favorite -- may keep him in the lineup more than any of us realize.
Especially with Luke Scott out and Wil Myers in the minors, I can't see him not getting in the lineup at least three out of every five days. For my fifth outfielder in a 12-team AL-only league, while I wait for Curtis Granderson to come back, I could be doing much worse. You don't have to run out and grab him yourself, but at least consider the fact that Fuld could play a lot in these first two months, and at least be a nice Roto source of steals.

| Sam Fuld to see more playing time |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (3/31/13) Rays outfielder Sam Fuld is likely to see more playing time with Luke Scott beginning the year on the disabled list, the Tampa Bay Times reports Sunday.
Fuld, who is the Rays' super utility player, hit .250 this spring over 20 at-bats with a home run, four RBI and one caught stealing. Fuld hit .255 last year over 44 games for Tampa Bay.

| Sam Fuld goes 0 for 3 in return |
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com (3/27/13) Rays left fielder Sam Fuld returned to the lineup Wednesday, going hitless in three at-bats to drop his line to .214/.214/.357 in 14 plate appearances this spring. Fuld also made a nice defensive play in the fifth inning, recording the third out of the inning on a sliding catch. He has been dealing with a tight hamstring that had sidelined him for much of March.

| Sam Fuld back in the lineup |
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com (3/27/13) Rays outfielder Sam Fuld is in the team’s lineup Wednesday. Fuld has missed a large chunk of this spring with a hamstring injury, but was always expected to be ready for opening day. As long as he doesn’t aggravate the injury over the next few days, he should be good to go.

| Sam Fuld is a good defender. While that's a good attribute in a ballplayer, it's not usually a good sign when that's the first thing mentioned in a Fantasy analysis. In fairness, Fuld has a long history of avoiding strikeouts and drawing walks, so he some on-base potential that he just hasn't fulfilled since his rookie season. He has come through with 27 stolen bases in 149 games over the last two seasons with the Rays. If Fuld gets semi-regular playing time, he has a chance to contribute in that category again, but once outfield prospect Wil Myers arrives in Tampa Bay, it's unlikely that Fuld will take the field very often. Because of the possibility of some early-season steals, Fuld is worth drafting late in deep AL-only leagues. (Updated 1/10/13) |
