Preseason Outlook

Sonnanstine decent in spot start: Tampa Bay SP Andy Sonnanstine pitched well over 5 2/3 innings on Wednesday against the Orioles but Baltimore led most of the night. Sonnanstine was relieved to earn a no decision as he allowed two runs -- one earned -- on three hits. He walked two and struck out two. His ERA is at 6.82 on the year.

Fantasy Analysis

Sonnanstine was definitely better on Wednesday than in his previous start when he allowed eight runs on six hits over 2 2/3 innings at the Yankees. He was so bad, the Rays dropped him from the rotation but put him back to fill in for Wednesday. He may not get another turn, so you really only need him in leagues that use middle relievers, if that.
