Skipper upbeat about Braun situation: The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports Brewers manager Ron Roenicke is well aware of the predicament his MVP outfielder Ryan Braun faces. Braun could be suspended 50 games if his appeal of testing positive for a banned substance isn't overturned. However, Roenicke seems upbeat about Braun's appeal. "The Braun thing, we'll see what happens with that. But right now we're planning on having Ryan," Roenicke said. (Updated 01/29/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
The entire baseball world awaits anxiously to see what happens with Braun. A decision on his appeal could still be weeks away, but we will keep you up to date on his situation. If Braun avoids a suspension, then he remains a first-round Fantasy pick. If he is suspended 50 games, then he is going to tumble down draft boards a bit, but Braun would still be an early-round Fantasy selection based on potential once he becomes active. 01/25/2012 17:47 Braun to skip Brewers' fan fest as he awaits appeal decision
The Milwaukee Brewers say NL MVP Ryan Braun will not attend the team's fan festival this weekend because it's too 'sensitive' a period for the slugger who awaits a decision of his appeal of a 50-game suspension under baseball's drug policy.
01/12/2012 06:03 Selig will leave baseball admired because he refuses to leave baseball
Bud Selig's best trait is his unwillingness to quit. Ray Ratto says Selig is never going to stop being commissioner of baseball, despite saying otherwise, because being commissioner is who Selig is -- not what he does.
Ryan Braun had one of his finest campaigns in the majors in 2011 en route to winning the NL MVP Award. He batted a career-high .332 with 33 home runs and 111 RBI while leading the Brewers to the NL Central title. He was able to improve his numbers across the board and posted his first 30-30 campaign, after not stealing more than 20 bases in his first four years in the majors. However, the 28-year-old tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug during the offseason and could miss the first 50 games of the 2012 campaign. Braun has become the cornerstone in Milwaukee and could just be scratching the surface of his talent, but missing almost one third of the season will put owners in a tough spot. Still, few players in Fantasy offer a career .312 average with a .563 slugging percentage, all while getting on base at a .371 clip. Don't let Braun slip too far in both Head-to-Head and Rotisserie formats on Draft Day as he should continue to be a solid all-around contributor in Fantasy, once he gets back on the field. Norichika Aoki, a Japanese import, will likely start in left field in Braun's absence. (Updated 1/25/12)
