Fantasy Analysis
Braun's injury is not being considered serious at the moment as he is being considered day to day. However, it cost him a few games this week, so Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status moving forward. The reigning NL MVP is on pace for another monster season in Milwaukee and can be considered a must-start option in all formats when healthy. (Updated 05/21/2012).

05/14/2012 16:16 MLB fires arbitrator from Braun case
Major League Baseball management has fired Shyam Das, the arbitrator who overturned Ryan Braun's drug suspension in February.
Ryan Braun had the best season of his already stellar career in 2011, adding base-stealing to his arsenal to finish with a .332 batting average, 33 home runs and 33 steals. The result was his first NL MVP award. But his greatest feat of the last 12 months came in the offseason, when he won his appeal after testing positive for a banned substance, becoming the first player to avoid a 50-game suspension under the current drug-testing program. So is it all fun and games for him going forward? Not necessarily. He'll still be playing without partner in crime Prince Fielder for the first time, and his career numbers without Fielder batting behind him aren't so encouraging. Still, the fact of the matter is Braun has been one of the top hitters in Fantasy since he first broke into the majors in 2007, and that doesn't figure to change now. He may not quite match his numbers of a year ago, but he's a no-doubt first-rounder in Fantasy, perhaps even a top-five pick. (Updated 2/23/12)
