by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (5/20/13) Braves reliever Eric O'Flaherty will undergo Tommy John surgery Tuesday, the Atlanta Journal- Constitution reports. It will be performed by Dr. James Andrews.

| Eric O'Flaherty not getting good vibes from doctors |
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (5/19/13) Braves reliever Eric O'Flaherty, who has been diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow, said Sunday he hopes he will not need Tommy John surgery, but that he's not getting a good vibe from the doctors, according to MLB.com. O'Flaherty added he was not shocked to learn of the ligament tear since the elbow has occasionally bothered him since late last year.

| Torn UCL for Eric O'Flaherty |
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (5/18/13) The Braves announced Saturday that reliever Eric O'Flaherty has been diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing elbow, after receiving the results of an MRI exam.
O'Flaherty was placed on the 15-day disabled list earlier in the day, and he is expected to visit Dr. James Andrews in the next few days.
Andrews is famous for performing Tommy John surgery on torn UCLs, though the team has not confirmed that the procedure will be necessary for O'Flaherty.

| Eric O'Flaherty hits the disabled list |
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (5/18/13) Braves reliever Eric O'Flaherty was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday due to a left elbow strain.
O'Flaherty pitched in Friday's game against the Dodgers, allowing a solo home run, but it is not clear if the injury already was bothering him. He has a 2.50 ERA in 19 appearances.
The team called up pitcher Cory Rasmus from Triple-A Gwinnett to take his place in the rotation.

| O'Flaherty makes spring debut |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (3/12/13) Braves reliever Eric O'Flaherty (groin) finally made his Grapefruit League debut on Tuesday against the Cardinals. O'Flaherty pitched the sixth inning and gave up two hits but no runs. He struck out one batter to get his spring training off on the right foot.

| After posting an incredible 0.98 ERA over 78 appearances in 2011, Eric O'Flaherty got a promotion of sorts last year, serving as Craig Kimbrel's primary setup man for much of the season. Of course, the role change had more to do with Jonny Venters' struggles than anything else. Statistically, O'Flaherty himself took a step back last year. Then again, for most pitchers, a 1.73 ERA wouldn't be cause for disappointment. For all O'Flaherty does right, he has never averaged a strikeout per inning over a full season, which limits his value in Rotisserie leagues. Still, now that he's had back-to-back All-Star-caliber seasons, you can trust him to deliver in other areas. As long as you can live with the reality that he stands virtually no chance of getting saves with Kimbrel ahead of him in the pecking order, O'Flaherty is a middle reliever to target in NL-only Rotisserie leagues.
