| Chris Dickerson homers twice off Phil Hughes |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (5/21/13) Orioles outfielder Chris Dickerson got a start in center with Adam Jones as the DH Tuesday at home against the Yankees. Dickerson reaquainted himself with former teammate Phil Hughes.
Entering the game with 12 career homers, Dickerson took Hughes deep twice in the game. His second and third homers on the year each went deep to right field. His second went onto the Camden Yards flag court. It was Dickerson's first career two-homer game.
Dickerson finished the game 3 for 4 and has hit in six straight games with two doubles, three homers and eight RBI over that span. He's batting .371. This was Dickerson's sixth career three-hit game.

| O's calling up Chris Dickerson? |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (4/9/13) The Orioles may be calling up outfielder Chris Dickerson from Triple-A Norfolk, MASNSports.com reported Tuesday. Dickerson was removed from Tuesday's Triple-A game for a pinch-hitter before batting in the first inning.
Expected to lead off and play center field, L.J. Hoes batted for Dickerson, who may be on his way to Boston to join the Orioles against the Red Sox Wednesday.
The 31-year-old Dickerson saw 14 at-bats with the Yankees last year and hit .286 with two homers and five RBI. He would provide Baltimore with some outfield depth if called upon.
|
| A five-year veteran, Chris Dickerson has never seen more than 255 at-bats in a season. His average has been as high as .304 and as low as .206. He doesn't have a lot of power, but he does play solid defense and has some nice speed on the base paths. The 30-year-old lefty will enter the 2013 season as bench depth, and will probably manage a decent amount of at-bats on the season as a late-inning defensive replacement and occasional starter. He doesn't have much Fantasy value in any format at this time. (Updated 1/4/13) |
