Rockies release Lo Duca: The Rockies have released C Paul Lo Duca from their Triple-A affiliate in Colorado Springs, according to MLB.com. Lo Duca, 38, was not getting much playing time, and he and the organization mutually agreed to part ways so he could pursue other opportunities. "It was just hard for me to get at-bats," Lo Duca said. "I played second base for one game, and I hadn't played second base since high school. It was a tough situation, with (Chris) Iannetta coming down, and (prospect Michael) McKenry has to play. I understand they have guys that need to play." (Updated 05/29/2010)

Fantasy Analysis
Lo Duca hit just .233 with one homer and seven RBI in 14 games for Colorado Springs, but insists he's still able to play. "I feel as healthy as I've felt in a long time," Lo Duca said. "I feel I will be back in the big leagues sometime this year." Lo Duca was out of baseball last year and would have little Fantasy value even on a major league roster at this point in his career. As a minor leaguer, he can be ignored in virtually all Fantasy formats. (Updated 05/29/2010).
