Fantasy Analysis
Ogando might have been booted from the rotation this year, but he hasn't sulked about being put back in the bullpen. He's pitching in key situations in front of closer Joe Nathan and has been dominant. Even without regular save chances, Ogando is the 28th highest scoring Fantasy reliever in Head-to-Head formats and 55th highest scoring pitcher in Rotisserie formats. (Updated 05/16/2012).

05/16/2012 23:52 Rangers' Darvish (6-1) baffles A's

05/08/2012 18:30 Rangers' plan for Feliz is shutdown starts in September, and not a September shutdown
The Nationals say that because Stephen Strasburg threw just 44 1/3 innings last year, there's no way to expect him to make it through a full season this year. Thus, they say he'll be shut down at some point. The Rangers are taking a different approach with Neftali Feliz, in hopes that he can pitch through September and into October.
05/07/2012 14:17 Reality Check: Time to stockpile starters
Teams are doing some strange things with their pitching. Our Scott White comes to grips with the Chris Sale decision and offers seven starters under 50 percent owned who deserve to be rostered.
05/05/2012 22:33 Beltre's 11th inning HR lifts Rangers
Pinch-hitter Adrian Beltre hit a three-run homer in the 11th inning to help lift the Texas Rangers to a 5-2 win over the Cleveland Indians on Saturday night.
After posting a 1.30 ERA over 44 appearances out of the bullpen in 2010, Alexi Ogando began last season as a starter and was dominant early on. He would start the year 7-0 with a 2.10 ERA in his first 12 outings before enduring a three-game losing streak. He was able to get back on track but started to wear down towards the end of the season as the innings racked up. The Rangers did everything in their control to limit his innings down the stretch and used the right-hander out of the bullpen during the playoffs. Ogando finished 2011 with a record of 13-8 and a 3.51 ERA in 31 appearances (29 starts) and posted a 126-to-43 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 169 innings. With the signing of Japanese phenom Yu Darvish in the offseason, Ogando will head back to the bullpen in 2012, which will limit his appeal in Fantasy. He also will not be in line for save chances with Joe Nathan now in Texas so owners would be wise to leave the 28-year-old for formats that utilize middle men on Draft Day. (Updated 2/21/12)
