Cards designate SP MacLane
(9/18/10) The Cardinals designated pitcher Evan MacLane for assignment on Saturday in order to make room on the 40-man roster for infielder Daniel Descalso.

MacLane optioned after scoreless inning
(7/18/10) Cardinals SP Evan MacLane was optioned to Triple-A Memphis after Sunday's 5-4 win over the Dodgers. In that game, the left-hander pitched a scoreless eighth inning. It was his first appearance since giving up a walk-off home run in his major-league debut on July 7. “I was waiting for an opportunity and one came up today,” MacLane told FOXSports.com. “I took advantage of it. I was ready. It had been awhile since I pitched and I almost felt too good so it was good to get out there and almost get comfortable a little bit." The team recalled Fernando Salas to take MacLane's spot on the roster.

Maclane rushed into duty in debut
(7/9/10) Cardinals SP Evan Maclane was recalled from Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday and did not wait long before making his major-league debut. He arrived at the ballpark in the fifth inning and ended up pitching in the ninth. He gave up a walk-off home run the only batter he faced, but Maclane was glad to get his first outing out of the way. "It was good, because as soon as I got here, I didn't really have time to think," MacLane told MLB.com. "They were like, 'Ready, let's go." Maclane was with the team earlier in the year, but did not make an appearance in his three days with the team. "Any time you come up, it's special and intense," MacLane said. "Every game means so much."

Maclane recalled by Cardinals
(7/7/10) Cardinals SP Adam Ottavino was placed on the 15-day DL on Wednesday with a right shoulder strain, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. St. Louis recalled Evan Maclane. Maclane could be in the conversation to start down the road.

Maclane sent down by Cardinals
(5/31/10) The Cardinals recalled OF Allen Craig from Triple-A Memphis and optioned pitcher Evan Maclane to the same club Monday.
