| (8/7/08) Texas purchased the contract of outfielder Jason Ellison from Triple-A Oklahoma before its game against the New York Yankees and transferred left-hander A.J. Murray to the 60-day disabled list. Murray has been out since June 4 with a strained left rotator cuff. With David Murphy going to the disabled list, rookie Brandon Boggs will get most of Murphy's at-bats in left field. |

Rangers help overworked bullpen with slew of roster moves
The Rangers made a series of roster moves to help their overworked bullpen before Wednesday night's game against Cleveland, recalling right-hander Kameron Loe from Triple-A Oklahoma and purchasing the contract of right-hander Elizardo Ramirez from the same club.

Rangers' Padilla goes home to Nicaragua to deal with family matter
Texas Rangers right-hander Vicente Padilla left the team Sunday, returning to his native Nicaragua to attend to what manager Ron Washington termed 'a family personal matter.'
