White Sox bring Veal on board: The White Sox signed RP Donnie Veal to a contract on Thursday and added him to their 40-man roster, according to the Chicago Tribune. Veal spent all of 2011 in the Pirates' minor league system, and his season started late, as he was recovering from Tommy John surgery. He last pitched in the major leagues in 2009. Fantasy Analysis
It is not yet known if the White Sox plan to use Veal as a reliever or as a starter. He could have a shot at making the team at some point in 2012, but regardless of his role, Veal will be a low-end option in Fantasy, as he is highly prone to wildness. (Updated 11/10/2011).
