| Donnie Veal officially recalled |

(5/18/13) As expected, the White Sox recalled reliever Donnie Veal from Triple-A Charlotte Saturday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Veal has made four straight scoreless relief appearances for Charlotte after posting a 4.26 ERA. He appears to have his command issue straightened out.

(5/1/13) The White Sox have optioned reliver Donnie Veal to Triple-A Wednesday.
Veal had only thrown 6 1/3 innings with the team this season. He had a 4.26 ERA. Veal was one of the few lefties in the team's bullpen. He will be replaced by right-hander Brian Omogrosso.

| (9/24/12) White Sox reliever Donnie Veal picked up the first save of his career in Monday's series opener against the Indians. He entered in the ninth inning with one on, two out and a two-run lead and gave up an RBI double to Shin-Soo Choo. Veal was able to get the next batter to groundout, however, to secure the 5-4 win.

| Former Rule 5 pick Donnie Veal finally seemed to unlock his potential in 2012, putting together a 1.38 ERA and 0.69 WHIP in 13 innings with the White Sox. This came after a 52-inning stint in the minors, where Veal had a 2.08 ERA and 1.21 WHIP, striking out 61 batters in 52 innings. Veal is probably the third man in line for saves if Addison Reed goes down and is likely behind Jesse Crain and Matt Thornton in the hunt for holds, so leave Veal undrafted in most formats, but keep an eye on his usage early in the season.
