White Sox bring Veal on board: The White Sox signed RP Donnie Veal to a contract on Thursday and added him to their 40-man roster, according to the Chicago Tribune. Veal spent all of 2011 in the Pirates' minor league system, and his season started late, as he was recovering from Tommy John surgery. He last pitched in the major leagues in 2009.
