Preseason Outlook

We cautioned the Fantasy public about trusting a closer on a non-contender when many considered Soria an elite stopper. Sure, his ERA and WHIP will rival the best relievers in baseball, but he still pitches for the Royals. If they only had four more Zack Greinke's, we would rate Soria a lot higher in our projections and rankings. As it is, we rank him just inside the top 15 closers to target on Draft Day. On a top contender, he would be a candidate to dominate the position in Fantasy. Closers remain victims of circumstances, though, and Soria is dragged down by the Royals and the unlikelihood that they will get him enough save chances on a weekly basis. (Updated 1/20/10)
