Jacoby Ellsbury not in Yankees' lineup on Sunday
|by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com|
|(4/26/15) Yankees center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury is out of the lineup for Sunday' night's game.
Ellsbury has been bothered by hip tightness, although treatment has helped with the problem. He was due for a day off soon anyway, so manager Joe Girardi gave him Sunday to rest the hip. The team was hopeful that Ellsbury would be back in the lineup on Monday.
"His hip got a little tight yesterday," Girardi said. "I don’t know if it's from one of his sliding catches that he irritated it on, but I just decided, let's give him today and I’ll give him about 48 hours to see if he could play tomorrow."

|(4/20/15) Speedy Yankees center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury is off to a rough start on the basepaths this season, as he was cut down stealing for the third time in five tries on Monday.|
Over the last two seasons, Ellsbury has swiped 91 bags while getting caught just nine times.
Ellsbury led the American League in stolen bases in 2008 and was tops in the majors in 2009 and 2013.
|2014 summary: With Jacoby Ellsbury's first season as a Yankee having been completed, the suspense is over as to how his skill set would translate from playing home games at Fenway Park versus at his new home, Yankee Stadium. Fortunately for his Fantasy owners, Ellsbury's doubles power remained intact, even in moving from the American League's best doubles park to one of its worst, as his 27 doubles were just four fewer than his total from the year before. Though his stolen base total fell, Ellsbury remained a top steals threat with a total of 39, and his 16 home runs represented his first double-digit homer season since he swatted 32 of them in 2011. Ellsbury's batting average didn't suffer at Yankee Stadium, where he hit .303, but a .244 road mark slightly dampened his overall value. He finished 10th among outfielders in Rotisserie value and 13th in Fantasy points.|
Playing time status: Ellsbury has had his share of health issues in recent seasons, but he avoided the Yankees disabled list in 2014. He did miss the final nine games with a hamstring injury, but he will be ready for the beginning of spring training.
2015 outlook: Now that we know that Ellsbury's skills translate well to Yankee Stadium, we can continue to have confidence in his ability to produce like a No. 1 outfielder in standard mixed leagues. He should be drafted no later than the third round in those formats.
