Preseason Outlook

West wasn't a big name in Fantasy circles at this time last season -- not even in NL-only leagues -- but he ended up making 20 starts after Andrew Miller again proved unready for a rotation spot. West was as inconsistent as you'd expect for a 23-year-old, but he had his moments, like when he posted a 2.77 ERA in five August starts. With improved control, he could enter the discussion in mixed leagues. He'll again have to hold off Miller for a rotation spot this spring, but with the inside track on the job, he's a good sleeper pick in NL-only leagues. (Updated 1/22/10)
