Fantasy Analysis
Hundley has collected just five hits over his last 49 at-bats (.102) with only two of those going for extra bases. He has just one RBI over that stretch and 13 on the year, which isn't going to help out many Fantasy owners. However, the 28-year-old has always been a slow starter in his career and is usually able to turn up his production after the All-Star break. In the meantime. continue to view Hundley as merely a low-end reserve option in NL-only formats. (Updated 05/20/2012).

05/11/2012 21:54 Ruiz, Mayberry team up to lift Phillies
Carlos Ruiz went 3 for 3 with a homer and three RBI and John Mayberry Jr. homered and drove in three runs to lead the Philadelphia Phillies to a 7-3 win over the San Diego Padres on Friday night.
After his first three seasons in the majors, Nick Hundley entered 2011 never having played in more than 85 games or hit 10 or more home runs in a season. Hundley did not break the cycle last season, as he missed time with oblique and elbow injuries. When he did play, he didn't hit with appreciably more power than he had in the past, but a flurry of singles lifted his batting average to a career-best .288. If owners expect a repeat, Hundley will probably be overvalued in 2012, as he increased his overall batting average with help from a .314 batting average on grounders. That will be a hard feat to replicate, especially since Hundley is not a speedster destined for a bevy of infield hits year in and year out. With just moderate power and a batting average due to decline, owners should plan on using Hundley as a No. 2 catcher in mixed leagues. (Updated 1/26/12)
