(8/26/14) The Blue Jays are set to designate outfielder Nolan Reimold for assignment Tuesday, according to Sportsnet.ca.
Reimold has struggled since joining the Blue Jays, hitting just .212/.283/.404 in 22 games, with two home runs in 52 at-bats. The report indicates he was a non-tender candidate at the end of the season even if the Blue Jays didn't release him.

(8/1/14) Designated hitter Nolan Reimold didn't figuratively dip his toes in the water in helping the Blue Jays coming off the disabled list. He jumped right in.
Reimold slammed two home runs Thursday in his first start after emerging from the DL. He ripped solo blasts in the fifth and ninth innings, the second of which proving to be the game-winner. His stat line on the season jumped to .353/.421/.882.

Stults, Padres hand D-backs 7th straight loss, 6-5
PHOENIX (AP) Eric Stults got a little support for a change, and the result was a 6-5 victory for the San Diego Padres over the Arizona, extending the Diamondbacks' losing streak to a season-worst seven games.
R.I.P.: 2014 Arizona Diamondbacks season
The Arizona Diamondbacks have officially been eliminated from postseason contention. Let us now eulogize their 2014 season.
|Nolan Reimold has gotten more than 350 at-bats just once in his career -- his breakout 2009 rookie campaign, when he hit .279 with 15 home runs and 18 doubles over 104 games. Since then, Reimold has totaled what is essentially a full season of at-bats (578) over the past four seasons. In that span, he has hit .235, with 26 home runs and 24 RBI, stealing eight bases. There is talent here -- and there's even a bit of an opening, with DH and left field somewhat unsettled for the Orioles heading into 2014 -- but with Reimold constantly being shelved, it's tough to trust him to stay healthy long enough to contribute. Still, there's always a chance the bad luck has run out, and Reimold can be taken -- with a great deal of caution -- in the later rounds of AL-only drafts.
