Giants OF Justin Maxwell rips two-run home run on Saturday
|by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer|
|(6/20/15) Giants outfielder Justin Maxwell came off the bench and delivered a key two-run home run in Saturday's win over the Dodgers. Maxwell was inserted into the game after left fielder Nori Aoki was forced to leave following the first inning with a leg contusion.
Maxwell came up in the fifth inning with the score tied 2-2. He launched a Carlos Frias pitch over the wall for a go-ahead two-run shot, his sixth of the season. It was his only hit of the game, but it proved to be the game-winner, as the Giants held on for the 6-2 victory.
"He's a threat. That's why he's good to have in the lineup," manager Bruce Bochy said, per MLB.com.

|(6/9/15) Gregor Blanco was initially listed at right field in the Giants lineup for Tuesday night.
The Giants pulled Blanco from the lineup, however, replacing him with Justin Maxwell. Blanco was scratched due to concussion symptoms. He was hit by a throw during batting practice on Monday and had a spell prior to Tuesday's game, per beat writer Andrew Baggarly.
Giants OF Justin Maxwell blasts first home run in over a month
|by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer|
|(6/5/15) It had been a while since Giants outfielder Justin Maxwell went deep. In fact, entering Friday's game against the Phillies, Maxwell had not homered since April 25 in Colorado. But that came to an end on Friday.
Maxwell, getting the start for the injured Hunter Pence, went 2 for 4 with his fourth home run of the season. His fourth-inning blast was a two-run shot that tied the game at three, and ended a 27-game homer-less drought. The Giants would go on to win 5-4.
Giants expecting less playing time for OF Maxwell, Blanco
|by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer|
|(5/18/15) Now that outfielder Hunter Pence has returned to the Giants' lineup, manager Bruce Bochy admitted that playing time will be squeezed for Justin Maxwell and Gregor Blanco, per the San Francisco Chronicle.
Maxwell had opened some eyes with good defense, but struggled offensively in May, making it easier to move him to the bench in favor of Pence. Blanco is hitting .266 in 32 games and will continue to be valuable bench piece moving forward.
"It'll be up to me to keep these guys sharp," Bochy said. "They know Hunter's going to be out there every day, and Angel (Pagan). I'm going to have to get creative in left field."
