Knee - 60-day DL. Out for season (Updated - 3/3/12)
Fantasy Analysis
Sizemore was in line to start the season as the Athletics' opening-day third baseman, but those plans were scrapped after he suffered the serious injury in practice last Saturday. Fantasy owners should continue to seek healthier options at third base in all drafts for the 2012 campaign. (Updated 03/21/2012).
02/25/2012 19:14 A's INF Sizemore sprains left knee
Oakland infielder Scott Sizemore sprained his left knee during fielding drills Saturday, the first day of full squad workouts.
After playing in just 17 games for the Tigers, Scott Sizemore was traded to the A's last season and saw some steady playing time at third base. He would bat .249 with 11 home runs and 52 RBI in 93 games with Oakland, with a .345 on-base percentage. He also slugged .433 and stole four bases. The 27-year-old was likely to be the everyday third baseman for Oakland this season but tore his ACL during the spring and is expected to miss the entire 2012 campaign. Sizemore has the potential to be a 20-homer performer with a full season of at-bats and should be able to rebound in 2013 but plan on ignoring him in Fantasy on Draft Day. (Updated 2/27/12)
