| Steve Pearce hits second home run |

(5/12/13) Orioles outfielder Steve Pearce hit his second home run of the season during Sunday's series finale against the Twins.
Pearce's solo home run in the sixth inning came off starter Scott Diamond. He finished 1 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI in the 6-0 victory.
Pearce is 4 for 9 with a home run and two RBI in his first three May games. He's hitting .243 with two homers and six RBI in 37 at-bats.

(5/4/13) With Chris Davis dealing with a knee injury, the Orioles started Steve Pearce at first base Saturday against the Angels.
Pearce had been used exclusively as the designated hitter before Saturday's game. The 30-year-old entered Saturday having played in 10 games with 30 at-bats. He has five hits, including a double and a homer, to go with four RBI. He's struck out seven times.

(4/27/13) Orioles designated hitter Steve Pearce is only batting .200 following Friday's win over Oakland. However, after starting the season 0 for 13, he's gone 5 for 12 (.440).
Pearce has a home run and a double that just missed being his second homer over that stretch with four RBI.

(4/7/13) Orioles outfielder Steve Pearce got a start as the designated hitter Sunday against Minnesota. He hit fifth in the 4-3 loss.
Pearce has yet to get a hit and was 0 for 3 in the game with a walk and a strikeout. He was 0 for 4 on opening day in Tampa Bay.
The 29-year-old got into some good hitting counts Sunday but ended up losing the at-bat.

(4/2/13) Orioles infielder/outfielder/DH Steve Pearce kind of slipped onto the roster under the cover of night, and may be a surprise start for many people at DH for Baltimore Tuesday. But the right-handed hitting slugger had a stellar spring, hitting .340 with seven home runs, 18 RBI, and a 1.228 OPS.
Pearce is a former top prospect, sporting a career .294 minor-league average and .894 OPS. He hasn't had a chance to get regular at-bats in the majors, with a career-high of 165 at-bats (in 2009). But with Wilson Betemit out until at least late May, there's an opening in Baltimore's lineup for the taking, and Pearce, 29, can pop in at several positions.
His career is actually somewhat similar to Bryan LaHair, who tore the cover off the ball early last year. Pearce may not be more than a short-term option in AL-only leagues right now, but he can hit lefties, and could be a nice plug-and-play option in daily leagues and challenges.
