(5/10/13) The Phillies have optioned reliever Joe Savery to Triple-A, the club announced Friday.
Savery came up to give the Phillies bullpen help between Roy Halladay's injury and Tyler Cloyd's first start in the rotation. He recorded a scoreless inning, but his spot is now needed for Cloyd to make Friday's start.

(5/6/13) The Phillies recalled pitcher Joe Savery from Triple-A Lehigh Valley Monday to fill Roy Halladay's spot on the active roster after he was placed on the disabled list. Savery. who made one appearance with Philadelphia earlier this season, is likely to be sent down when the team promotes a starter for Friday's game at Arizona in place of Halladay.

(4/19/13) The Phillies recalled reliever Joe Savery Friday to take John Lannan's place on the active roster. Savery is expected to pitch out of the bullpen until the team can find a starter to replace Lannan.
Savery competed for a bullpen spot in spring training but was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley early in camp.
"It was a little bit of a frustrating and confusing situation," he told MLB.com. "But there are some guys that did their job very well last year, did their job better than I did. I came into camp knowing that those guys deservedly were ahead of me. But the good news was is I got to go to minor-league camp and pitch every few days there, so I certainly got my work in, which wasn't always the case last year."
Savery had a 5.40 ERA in 25 innings out of the Phillies' bullpen last season.
