Fantasy Analysis
Borbon had been competing for playing time in center field this spring but could not do enough to make the 25-man roster. He is a career .284 hitter with 40 stolen bases in 215 games in the majors so he should be up with the big club at some point this season. Still, owners in AL-only formats should be the only ones concerned with Borbon going forward. (Updated 04/02/2012).

02/27/2012 10:25 2012 Fantasy outlooks: Texas Rangers
The Texas Rangers have made two straight World Series appearances, so clearly they have plenty to offer Fantasy owners. Our Al Melchior sizes up what to look for on Draft Day.
Julio Borbon broke camp with the Rangers last season but he did not remain in the majors for long due to injuries. He batted .270 with 11 RBI and six stolen bases in 32 games before a hamstring injury landed him on the DL in mid-June. After rehabbing, he was activated to the minors and struggled down on the farm before an ankle injury ended his season. The 26-year-old enters the 2012 campaign healthy and will compete for playing time in center field during the spring. Keep an eye on his progress as Borbon has the ability to be a viable option in Fantasy, especially with a potent lineup surrounding him in Texas. If he can see significant at-bats, Borbon will be worth targeting in AL-only formats. (Updated 3/5/12)
