Blackburn has no timetable: Minnesota starter Nick Blackburn, on the disabled list with a quadriceps injury, is still getting work done on his injury back in Minnesota, reports MLB.com on Sunday. There is no specific timetable for his return. "He's back home getting treatment," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "I haven't heard a word since. The DL is good for him. He had the knife feeling going in his left thigh and he needs that to get better before he pitches." (Updated 05/20/2012)

Quadriceps - 15-day DL. Out until at least early June (Updated - 5/17/12)
Fantasy Analysis
Blackburn has been getting lit up pretty much all season and he's been pretty bad in May, so the DL may have been needed. Blackburn has an 11.08 ERA through three May starts. He's pretty much just a risky AL-only Fantasy option and can be dropped while he's on the DL. The Twins have plenty of choices to choose from to replace Blackburn, including Anthony Swarzak, Brian Duensing and Liam Hendriks. (Updated 05/20/2012).

04/14/2012 00:50 The Lineup: Big bounce-backs
Hey, every team has played at least one home game now! All the special openers have concluded, so we can officially look forward to the grind. Friday night was yet another great night of baseball, with some huge pitching performances, a few good offensive displays and a pair of extra-inning contests. Let's start with some bounce-backs.
04/11/2012 17:09 Scott Baker needs elbow surgery, out for season
Twins starting pitcher Scott Baker will miss the entire 2012 season, as he's going to undergo surgery on his right elbow to repair his damaged flexor pronator tendon. He'll require six months of rehab. The information was presented to reporters at a press conference in Target Field Wednesday afternoon.
With a career rate of 4.3 per nine innings, Blackburn might be the worst source of strikeouts in the majors. But for as hittable as he is, he has proven to be a competent part of the Twins starting rotation, eating innings and producing a fair number of quality starts. He is prone to blowouts, though, which usually puts his ERA on the wrong side of 4.00 and keeps him out of the mixed-league discussion. The added complication this season is that he's coming off surgery, having missed the final five weeks of the 2011 season because of an entrapped nerve in his right forearm. He should be ready for the start of the season, but even the slightest setback could eliminate what little Fantasy he has. If you need an innings eater in a deeper Head-to-Head league, Blackburn deserves a look, but Rotisserie owners should recognize that he'll likely do more harm than good in the ERA, WHIP and strikeout categories.
