Preseason Outlook

Everett's glove makes him an everyday player year after year, but his bat makes him an afterthought in Fantasy. He hasn't hit over .239 since 2005 and hasn't offered double-digit homers or steals in just as long. His career .648 OPS would have run him out of the league years ago if he played any position other than shortstop. He has some low-end appeal in AL-only leagues just because he gets at-bats, but he's the epitome of last resort. Besides, the Tigers usually find someone to platoon with him by midseason just because they get so frustrated with his wasted at-bats. (Updated 1/20/10)
