Preseason Outlook

Braves look to Glaus as impact player: CBSSports.com senior writer Danny Knobler reports for as much buzz as rookie outfielder Jason Heyward is bringing to Braves camp, the expectations for free-agent arrival Troy Glaus to make as big of an impact are also elevated. Manager Bobby Cox said the Braves have been looking for a right-handed power hitter for two years and said Glaus "just kind of fell into our laps." Glaus is making the adjustment from third base to first base, but after losing last year to a shoulder injury, the veteran seems healthy. "He's a young-looking 33, let me tell you," Cox said.

Fantasy Analysis

Glaus had yet to a hit homer this spring, but he is batting .478 and looking very spry for an aging player. Perhaps a move to first base will be less stress on Glaus' body. It seems Cox gets the most out of his players all the time, so Glaus is looking like a nice injury-risk sleeper for the later rounds on Draft Day.
