Slumping Young to remain in lineup : Rangers manager Ron Washington told reporters on Friday that he has no plans of taking Michael Young out of the lineup. Young entered Friday's contest against the Astros hitless over his last 11 at-bats and just 5 for 41 (.122) over his last nine games. "He's going to come out of this," Washington told ML B.com. "He just doesn't look comfortable. It happens. It's like most things when you're talking about somebody with great hand-eye coordination: it could happen today. In Michael's case, I'm not worried about it. Today is the day it could happen." (Updated 05/18/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
With Mitch Moreland really heating up, many expected Young to get a few games off when the Rangers played at Houston for their first interleague series. However, Washington wants Young to continue to play through his slump, so it appears he will continue to find his name on the lineup card on a daily basis. Young's track record speaks for itself and most agree that it should only be a matter of time before the 35-year-old is able to get himself back on track. Despite his recent struggles, Fantasy owners should continue to roll with Young in the majority of formats moving forward. (Updated 05/18/2012).

05/19/2012 22:42 Astros use three HRs to edge Rangers

05/18/2012 23:35 Beltre's HR, Rangers' bullpen top Astros
Adrian Beltre hit a home run and Michael Young broke out of a slump with two hits and an RBI to lift the Texas Rangers to a 4-1 victory against the Houston Astros on Friday night.
Michael Young changed positions yet again for the Rangers last season but it did not affect his offense in the slightest. After Texas signed Adrian Beltre in the offseason, Young saw most of his playing time at DH, among other spots on the infield. He batted .323 with 59 RBI and a .482 slugging percentage in the first half and earned a trip to his seventh All-Star game. He stayed hot down the stretch and ended up with a career-high .338 average with 11 home runs and 106 RBI. It was the second 100-RBI campaign of his career and he also recorded more than 200 hits for the first time since 2007. The 35-year-old will have a ton of eligibility in Fantasy in 2012 and should be able to continue to drive in runs while hitting for a solid average. Even though his power has dropped each of the last two seasons, Young should be gone by the middle rounds of mixed leagues on Draft Day. (Updated 2/9/12)
