| (5/17/09) The Cleveland Indians have purchased the contracts of pitchers David Huff and Greg Aquino from Triple-A Columbus. Huff was to make his major league debut as Sunday's starter against Tampa Bay. Aquino will work out of the bullpen. To make room on the roster, Cleveland optioned reliever Tony Sipp and outrighted right-hander Masa Kobayashi to Columbus. |

| (5/16/09) The Indians are taking RHP Masa Kobayashi off the roster and would like him to go to Triple-A Columbus, but Kobayashi has the option to reject the assignment. "We're hoping that he'll accept the assignment," Wedge said, "go down there and get ready to work and get himself going." Kobayashi has an 8.38 ERA with no decisions in 10 games this year. |
