Fukudome adjusting to new role: White Sox outfielder Kosuke Fukudome finished 1 for 2 and drove in a run during Chicago's 8-6 loss to Cleveland in the opening game of a doubleheader on Monday. Fukudome's single in the seventh inning halted a six-game hitless skid (seven at-bats). He tallied his fourth RBI of the season on a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning. He is now hitting .200 in limited playing time this year. (Updated 05/07/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Fukudome earned the start Monday as he continues to shift to a part-time position with the White Sox. And while his batting average has sagged, he is still boasting a .333 on-base percentage. "At-bat wise, he looks fine," Chicago manager Robin Ventura told MLB.com. "Numbers don't always show how a guy is hitting. He's lined out a lot. In the role he's asked to play, he understands it." Continue to leave Fukudome unowned for now. (Updated 05/07/2012).
05/07/2012 17:35 Indians' McAllister earns first MLB win
Zach McAllister pitched six innings for his first major league win as the Cleveland Indians roughed up a far-from-perfect Philip Humber in an 8-6 win Monday over the Chicago White Sox in the first game of a day-night doubleheader.
Kosuke Fukudome found the free-agent market unsettling. After hitting a combined .262 with the Cubs and Indians last season, Fukudome didn't sign with a team until mid-February, inking a one-year deal with the White Sox. He spent most of the offseason unsigned because of concerns over his age and declining production. The 34-year-old spent three-plus seasons with Chicago before being shipped to Cleveland at the trade deadline last season. He appeared in 59 games for the Indians and posted a .249 batting average with a .300 on-base percentage -- the lowest totals of his career. He also notched career lows in home runs (eight) and RBI (35). Fukudome is expected to open the 2012 season as a backup outfielder with the White Sox, so let him go undrafted in most Fantasy formats.
