(4/19/13) The Rockies have recalled left-hander Josh Outman from Triple-A Colorado Springs Friday. Outman has allowed two runs -- one earned -- and struck out 14 through 10 2/3 innings of work in the minors.

(2/12/13) The Rockies are claiming that pitcher Josh Outman has a chance to win a rotation spot out of spring training, reports MLB.com Tuesday. Outman, known for straining his oblique while vomiting not long after learning he made the 2012 opening day roster, is looking to put that behind him. "I don't think that I'm ever going to be able to live that one down, and I've made peace with that fact," Outman said. "Once it's out there, it's out there. But I think I'm OK with that story being embellished if I can put my body of work from last season to rest. It's a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately mentality. If I have a strong 2013, everybody will forget about 2012."

| (1/16/13) The Rockies and pitcher Josh Outman avoided arbitration on Wednesday by agreeing to a one-year, $675,000 contract. Outman went 1-3 with an 8.19 ERA in 27 appearances (seven starts) last season.
