| Alexei Ramirez stringing some hits together |
by Ed Gauna | CBSSports.com (5/14/13) White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez turned in his second straight three-hit performance on Monday night against the Twins. He singled in his first at-bat before doubling in the sixth inning.
The 31-year-old added another base hit in the eighth, raising his average to .277. Ramirez finished 3 for 4 in a 10-3 loss.

| Alexei Ramirez just misses second home run |
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (5/6/13) White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez just missed hitting his second home run of the season Monday at Kansas City.
In the seventh inning, Ramirez sent a fly ball into the seats beyond the left field wall at Kauffman Stadium, which was ruled a foul. White Sox manager Robin Ventura came out to argue Ramirez's home run went right of the foul pole, so the umpires went to review it. After further review, the call wasn't overturned and a few pitches later Ramirez struck out.
He did manage to get a bit of redemption in the ninth inning, tying the game at 1 on an infield single. It was his only hit in four at-bats, and struck out twice. Ramirez is batting .267 (8 for 30) with two RBI in his last eight games. His homerless streak has reached 28 games.

| Alexei Ramirez working on five-game hitting streak |
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com (5/3/13) White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez is working on a five-game hitting streak, going 7 for 19 over his last five games but getting no extra-base hits during the streak. Ramirez has hit .292/.330/.385 with one home run and four stolen bases in 103 plate appearances this season.

| Alexei Ramirez hits safely in 15 of 18 games |
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (4/22/13) White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez is one of two Chicago position players to have started every game this season, joining outfielder Alex Rios. Sunday against the Twins was also just the third time Ramirez failed to record at least one hit.
Ramirez is batting .306 with one home run, three RBI and five doubles through 18 games. He also has seven strikeouts and four walks.

| Alexei Ramirez drives in run |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (4/15/13) White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez drove in a run on Monday during a 4-3 loss at Toronto. Ramirez hit a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning to give the game its final score.
Ramirez went 1 for 3 and is batting .298. The RBI was his second. He's recorded at least one base hit in all but one game and is already up to four doubles and a home run.

| Alexei Ramirez had a season to forget in 2012, as his power and average numbers slipped for the second straight season. He managed to steal 20 bases, but it was hardly a consolation for owners who were looking for 18 home runs and got nine instead. With his average dipping to .265, Ramirez is no longer the precocious "Cuban Missile" of years past -- he's now a 31-year-old veteran who needs to put together a strong 2013 in order to get back into the good graces of Fantasy owners. Step one: take some walks. He had 16 last year, which resulted in a .287 OBP. Step two: get the power back up. Ramirez dipped down to 24 doubles and nine home runs last season. If he can bounce back to 30 and 18, while keeping the 20 steals -- all realistic, but let's be real here, all probably not going to happen -- he can work his way into top 10 shortstop status. More realistic, though? About 14 home runs, 17 steals and a .284 average. He will likely be taken in the middle-to-late rounds of most drafts. (Updated 12/4/12) |
