Preseason Outlook

Desperate to fill their starting rotation midway through 2009, the Angels turned to 21-year-old O'Sullivan, who ended up posting a 5.92 ERA that wasn't too far off from his minor-league mark of 5.48. He doesn't project as a big strikeout guy, but he could become a serviceable major-league starter with a little more seasoning in the minors. The offseason signing of Joel Pineiro affords him that opportunity. The Angels could ask O'Sullivan to make a handful of starts later in the year, but based on his current role, he's not worth drafting even in AL-only leagues. (Updated 2/2/10)
