| Anthony Recker makes an impact |
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (6/6/13) The Mets received an unexpected boost from the bottom half of the lineup Wednesday against the Nationals, and catcher Anthony Recker played a big part.
Recker went 2 for 5 with three RBI, two on a single in the fifth and one on a double in the seventh. Recker scored once in the 10-1 win.
Recker is batting .200 with a .686 OPS in 30 at-bats.

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com (4/30/13) Mets backup catcher Anthony Recker, who was a part-time pitcher in college at Alvernia University, could be used as an emergency pitcher in late, extra-inning situations.
In fact, Recker was approached by manager Terry Collins and was ready to pitch the 16th inning for the Mets Monday before the Marlins hit a walkoff sacrifice fly to win the game in the 15th.
"I was pitching the next inning," he said. "I was ready."
Recker has just one hit in 10 at-bats in his first season with the Mets.

Landon Powell also was competing to backup starter John Buck.
