|by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com|
|(5/22/15) Just as Rangers first baseman Kyle Blanks was beginning to live up to his potential, a pain in the butt cropped up.
Blanks has gone on the disabled list with a boil on his back side, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram has reported.
The 28-year-old Blanks had played only one game since last Friday, but is batting .500 (6-for-12) in his last three games and boasts a fine .322/.365/.542 slash line on the year with three home runs in 59 at-bats.

With Martin back in the lineup, Delino DeShields slides over to left and Kyle Blanks will be on the bench.

|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
|(5/14/15) The Rangers aren't in a rush to have Kyle Blanks in the outfield because he experiencing some soreness in his feet, according to MLB.com. Mitch Moreland was reinstated from the disabled list, which could open the door for an appearance in the outfield in the near future for Blanks.
Blanks is hitting .314 (16 for 51) with three homers and six RBI in 13 games.
Rangers could move Kyle Blanks to outfield
|by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com|
|(5/7/15) The Rangers called Kyle Blanks up to play first base with Mitch Moreland injured. But with Moreland's left elbow injury is nearly healed, Blanks may not be heading back to the minors.
Blanks has impressed thus far as he held a .357 batting average entering Thursday's game against the Rays. He's hit three home runs and totaled five RBI. Therefore, the Rangers are considering moving Blanks to the outfield when Moreland returns.
However, Blanks' injury history is a concern for the Rangers. At first, the risk of injury is a lot lower than in the outfield.
"We are aware of that," manager Jeff Banister said, via MLB.com. "This is a big man and that is a lot of area and a lot of wear and tear. A guy swinging the bat like he is, you want to keep him healthy and on the field."
