| Wade LeBlanc has no value |
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (5/10/13) Marlins starting pitcher Wade LeBlanc was actually passable when given the opportunity last season for Miami, but that did not transfer over after he won a spot in the rotation in the spring. LeBlanc proved unable to take advantage of an improved defense and spacious home park, posting a 6.11 ERA in seven starts.
LeBlanc did not have much Fantasy value while he was in the rotation, but even in NL-only Fantasy formats, he should be cast aside now that he is moving to the bullpen. He has no Fantasy value in any formats while pitching in middle relief.

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com (5/1/13) Marlins pitcher Wade LeBlanc gave up four runs over 5 2/3 innings against the Mets Wednesday.

| Wade LeBlanc expected to stay in rotation |
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com (4/27/13) Marlins manager Mike Redmond indicated there are no plans to take Wade LeBlanc out of the rotation, according to the Palm Beach Post. Henderson Alvarez is expected to start in a rehab game Thursday and could be activated shortly after.
LeBlanc surrendered four runs and eight hits, including two home runs last night against the Cubs. He is 0-4 with a 6.20 ERA in five starts. He is scheduled to start Wednesday against the Mets. LeBlanc allowed three runs -- two earned -- and 14 hits over 11 innings of work against the Mets last season.

| In joining the Marlins a year ago, 2012 was the first season that Wade LeBlanc spent away from the Padres' organization, but the lefty fell into a familiar pattern with his new club. LeBlanc spent the previous four seasons splitting time between Triple-A and the majors, and the Marlins had him spend significant time at both levels again last season. After putting up respectable numbers (3.74 ERA, 1.13 WHIP) at Triple-A New Orleans during the season's first half, the Marlins brought LeBlanc up to stay for the second half. For the first time in his major league career, LeBlanc showed the sharp control that he possessed in the minors, and he registered a career-low 3.67 ERA. He was used mostly in relief last year, but in 2013, LeBlanc is expected to fill a spot in the Marlins' rotation. His flyball tendencies are a good fit for Marlins Park, and he is worth targeting in all NL-only leagues. (Updated 1/2/13) |
