| Tommy Hunter pitching well out of bullpen |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (5/5/13) Orioles pitcher Tommy Hunter has been outstanding in relief since allowing three home runs in his first 3 2/3 innings pitched this season, MASNSports.com reports.
Hunter earned the victory in Saturday's game in Anaheim. He pitched a scoreless ninth inning and hasn't allowed a run in his last seven outings since April 10 at Boston.
Hunter has given up just three runs and 11 hits over 14 2/3 innings this season with three walks and 10 strikeouts. His fastball routinely hits 97-98 and he's topped out at 100 mph this year. His ERA is 1.84.

| Tommy Hunter earns three-inning save |
by Ed Gauna | CBSSports.com (4/20/13) Orioles pitcher Tommy Hunter earned his first career save in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Dodgers. He came on for starter Wei-Yin Chen in the seventh and worked three scoreless innings. The right-hander allowed three hits and struck out two while walking one in the 6-1 win.
Hunter has a 2.89 ERA through six relief appearances.

| Tommy Hunter a darkhorse for saves? |
by Nando Di Fino | Senior Fantasy Writer (3/27/13) Jim Johnson saved 51 games for Baltimore last year and has an ADP of 135, but things (injuries, implosions, rough patches) happen. And if something happens to Johnson, Pedro Strop may not be the go-to guy in the bullpen for saves. Consider this: Tommy Hunter's fastball velocity jumped up into the high 90s when he was moved to the bullpen in September last year; it had been around 91 as a starter thorughout his career.
In 10 relief appearances, Hunter had a 0.71 ERA and 1.15 WHIP, with a strikeout per inning. It's not a given that he enters the save mix, but Hunter is a nice darkhorse possibility, and, in the meantime, he can contribute to an AL-only team as a high-K, low-ratio flamethrower.

| Hunter serves up long ball |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (3/2/13) Orioles pitcher Tommy Hunter saw another two-inning appearance in Grapefruit League play against Tampa Bay on Saturday. Hunter gave up a home run to Sean Rodriguez in the fifth. He gave up one run and two hits over his two innings and his ERA on the spring is now at 6.75.

| Hunter gives up HR in debut |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (2/23/13) Baltimore pitcher Tommy Hunter is attempting to win back a spot in the rotation this spring but he got off to a slow start on Saturday against the Twins. Pitching the third inning in the Grapefruit League opener, Hunter surrendered a two-run homer to Josh Willingham. Hunter gave up two hits and two runs and did not strike out a batter.

| An at times effective, but mostly uninspiring starting pitcher for most of his time with the Rangers, Tommy Hunter was unable to find his footing in an ever-changing Orioles rotation last year and had a miserable 5.95 ERA when he was optioned to Double-A Bowie in August. He returned as a reliever just a couple weeks later and was so impressive in the role that the Orioles might not even bother with him as a starter anymore. Not only did he post a 0.71 ERA in 10 appearances, but he hit 100 on the radar gun, gaining a good 6-7 miles per hour on his fastball (in terms of average velocity) with the change in role. Of course, no matter how hard he throws, he's not going to have much Fantasy value as a middle reliever, but if he gets off to a hot start in 2013, Hunter might deserve a pickup in AL-only Rotisserie leagues.
