Mets RP Carlos Torres does it all in victory on Thursday

|(8/27/15) Right-handed reliever Carlos Torres was one of the heroes of the game for the Mets, as they went on to beat the Phillies 9-5 in 13 innings on Thursday. Torres shined with his arm, his glove, his bat and his speed in this one.
On the mound, Torres tossed 2 1/3 scoreless ball, allowing just one hit. He also made a couple of athletic plays, including a sprint to first base to beat Jeff Francoeur on a deflected ground ball.
At the plate, Torres reached on an infield single and scored the Mets' go-ahead run in the 13th, as he picked up his fifth win of the season. Overall, it was an impressive evening for the right-hander, as the Mets completed the four-game sweep of the Phillies.

|(6/16/15) Mets manager Terry Collins said reliever Carlos Torres will handle the closer's role Tuesday, as regular closer Jeurys Familia will be unavailable.
Familia has pitched on back-to-back days, which included a 29-pitch outing Monday against the Blue Jays. Familia also suffered his second blown save Monday.

|(4/28/15) Mets reliever Carlos Torres suffered a loss to Miami on Tuesday, dropping his record to 1-1.
Torres entered in the eighth inning, walked two of the first three batters he faced, and then allowed an RBI single for the go-ahead run. Torres saw his ERA inflate to 4.50.

|(4/6/15) Mets normal closer Jenrry Mejia dealing with an elbow injury, the door may be open to Jeurys Familia as the team's new closer, manager Terry Collins said Monday per ESPN.com.
Mejia felt stiffness in his elbow while warming up Monday and was unable to enter the game.
"He couldn't get it loose," Collins said. "With what we've seen right now, and with what he's had in the past, we had to shut him down."
Familia would slide into the closer's role with Carlos Torrestaking over the set up role in the eighth. Familia posted a 2-5 record in 2014 with five saves and a 2.21 ERA in 77 1/3 innings.
Report: Mets to go with four-man bench; Eric Campbell likely snubbed

|(4/4/15) The Mets are expected to go with an eight-man bullpen and a four-man bench, snubbing Eric Campbell from an Opening Day roster spot, according to ESPN.
Campbell hit .255 (14 for 55) with six doubles, one triple, two home runs and nine RBI in 24 Grapefruit League games. The four-man bench will include Ruben Tejada, John Mayberry Jr., Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Anthony Recker.
Meanwhile, the eight-man bullpen will include Rafael Montero, Jeurys Familia, Jerry Blevins, Jenrry Mejia, Alex Torres, Carlos Torres, Sean Gilmartin, and Buddy Carlyle .
