| Dodgers swap Justin Sellers for Tim Federowicz |
by Ed Gauna | CBSSports.com (5/8/13) The Dodgers recalled catcher Tim Federowicz from Triple-A Albuquerque Wednesday and optioned infielder Justin Sellers to the same affiliate.

| Can Justin Sellers be of any help? |
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (4/17/13) Justin Sellers earned a vote of confidence from Dodgers manager Don Mattingly Tuesday, who told MLB.com that Sellers will remain the starting shortstop until Hanley Ramirez can return from the disabled list. Does that mean Fantasy owners should have any confidence in him?
Given that the first thing Mattingly pointed to in support of Sellers was his glove work, the answer to that should be pretty obvious. If not, the .167 batting average through 12 games is a dead giveaway. Sellers does not have much of a track record in the minor leagues that would indicate he is capable of being a Fantasy producer; just a pair of double-digit home run seasons played mostly in the inflated hitting environment of the Pacific Coast League.
Sellers has an abnormally low .192 batting average on balls in play, but even that does little to explain away his lack of Fantasy value. Sellers is dreadfully lacking in power, with just one extra-base hit in 41 at-bats. He is strikeout prone for a hitter without much power, a bad combination that is unlikely to lead to a high average. Outside of maybe the rare 14-team, NL-only Fantasy league, Sellers is simply not worth your time.

| Don Mattingly sticking with Justin Sellers at SS |
by Ed Gauna | CBSSports.com (4/17/13) Dodgers manager Don Mattingly told MLB.com on Tuesday that Justin Sellers will remain the starting shortstop while Hanley Ramirez is on the disabled list.
While Sellers is batting just .176 through 34 at-bats, Mattingly said his defense makes up for his lack of offensive production.
"I'm comfortable with Sells, especially defensively, we've gotten what we wanted," Mattingly said before Tuesday's game against the Padres. "Offensively, I shouldn't say I expect him to hit a little bit more. It's kind of, in a sense, you get what you expect. I think he can get better. I think he can improve."

| Justin Sellers finding his groove? |
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (4/11/13) Dodgers shortstop Justin Sellers had his first multi-hit game of the season Wednesday at San Diego, extending his hitting streak to three games. Sellers is batting .500 (4 for 8) during his modest hitting streak after going hitless (0 for 13) in his first four games.
Sellers also has one home run, one RBI and three walks in his last three games.

| No need to pursue Justin Sellers |
by Al Melchior | Data Analyst (4/3/13) With early struggles at the plate, Fantasy owners have been given little reason to pursue Justin Sellers, who has been filling in as the Dodgers' shortstop in place of Hanley Ramirez (thumb). Still, deep league owners may see Sellers' .294/.383/.515 line from his three stints at Triple-A Albuquerque and think there is some Fantasy value there.
Sellers can draw walks, but he relied on a high flyball rate and favorable park effects to achieve his power numbers. His flyball-hitting ways won't produce the same results in Dodger Stadium, so owners won't get much from Sellers in any category. He can be bypassed in virtually all Fantasy formats.
