| Justin Turner sees time in the outfield |
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com (5/9/13) Mets second baseman Justin Turner played the outfield for the first time in his career Wednesday.
Turner did play one game in the outfield during spring training, but has primarily been used in the infield during the regular season. Turner didn't have a defensive chance Wednesday, so manager Terry Collins couldn't get a good grasp on his defensive performance. Collins hinted that this defensive alignment wouldn't happen often, saying "...to ask Justin Turner to play left field when he’s never played the outfield in his life, to start a game or to play there on a consistent basis, that’s a lot to ask."

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (4/30/13) Mets infielder Justin Turner, who started at third base for the injured David Wright (neck), tied a season-high with three hits Monday against the Marlins. Turner, who has accomplished the feat three times this season, finished 3 for 5 with one double and one walk.
Turner is batting .368 (14 for 38) with three doubles and four RBI in 15 games. Turner has made just seven starts through 24 games and Monday was the first time he started at third base.

| Justin Turner gets shot at DH |
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (4/13/13) The Mets have not been able to find many starts for infielder Justin Turner this season, so they took advantage of the opportunity to slot him in as the designated hitter Saturday in Minnesota.
Turner batted eighth in the game and proved useful, going 3 for 4 with a double in a 4-2 win. Turner scored one run during a four-run fifth inning.
Turner is batting .467 with two extra-base hits and no RBI in 15 at-bats. He had started three hits, with all seven of his hits coming in those starts.

| Justin Turner draws start |
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com (4/9/13) Mets first baseman Justin Turner will start Tuesday against the Phillies.
Turner will take on Cliff Lee. Ike Davis has been given a day off against the tough left-hander, and should return to the lineup for the next game.
