Valaika over knee injury: Reds third baseman Chris Valaika said Monday he is completely healthy after having surgery last September to repair a torn ACL in his right knee, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. "Im all healed up and ready to go," Valaika said. "Ive felt 100 percent the last three weeks or so. Once I started full baseball activities, I started getting confident in it. Its a long healing process. ... But its good now." (Updated 02/20/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Valaika spent most of the 2011 season with Triple-A Louisville and recorded seven homers and 37 RBI. He appeared in 14 games for the Reds before suffering the season-ending injury and batted .280. He tore the same ACL while in college and was cautious with his return. Valaika is expected to compete for a backup infield spot during spring training, but should not be considered a worthwhile Fantasy option for now. (Updated 02/20/2012).
