| Chris Valaika could miss the remainder of season |

White | CBSSports.com (5/10/13) It's possible that Marlins infielder Chris Valaika, who underwent successful sugery to repair a fractured left wrist Friday, will miss the remainder of the season, MLB.com reports. Valaika will need four-to-six weeks to recover from the surgery, and another four-to-six weeks to build back to full strength.
Valaika has hit .219/.261/.344 with one home run in 70 plate appearances this season.

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (5/8/13) Marlins manager Mike Redmond said infielder Chris Valaika, who was placed on the disabled list Wednesday because of a fractured left wrist, won't need surgery, but he will be sidelined 4-6 weeks.
"I don’t know if that’s just straight heal time and then build him back up or four to six weeks until he’s back playing," Redmond said, per The Miami Herald.

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (5/8/13) Marlins infielder Chris Valaika was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday after suffering a fractured left wrist Tuesday. It was reported after Tuesday's game against the Padres Valaika was expected to be placed on the DL.
He's batting .219 with one home run and nine RBI in 22 games. He was starting at second base in the absence of Donovan Solano. The Marlins recalled prospect Derek Dietrich from Double-A Jacksonville to take Valaika's roster spot.

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com (5/8/13) Marlins infielder Chris Valaika, who left Tuesday's game against the Padres, underwent an X-ray that revealed a small fracture in his left wrist. Valaika is expected to be placed on the 15-day disabled list.
Valaika was hitting 219/.261/.344 with a home run and nine RBI in 64 at-bats before getting hurt.

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com (5/8/13) Marlins infielder Chris Valaika was forced out of Tuesday's contest against the Padres with a left wrist injury.
Yonder Alonso collided with Valaika on a stolen-base attempt in the eighth inning. Valaika was checked by trainers and replaced by Chris Coghlan at second. Valaika finished 1 for 3 and is hitting .219/.261/.344 in 64 at-bats.
With Donovan Solano on the disabled list with an intercostal strain, the Marlins could start Coghlan at second Wednesday night if Valaika is not ready to return.
